Privacy Policy
Last updated August 14, 2026
1. Introduction
EmpowerRise Hub (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a women-led and youth-led innovation hub based in Mogadishu, Somalia. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the EmpowerRise Hub website, empowerrisehub.org, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
By submitting a form on this website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We only collect information you choose to provide to us, through one of three forms:
- Volunteer Registration — full name, gender, age, email address, phone number, and location.
- SaveHer Pledge — full name, age, location, and any comment you choose to add.
- Contact Form — full name, email address, subject, and message.
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track your browsing activity across other websites.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit only to:
- Review volunteer registrations and contact you about opportunities;
- Record your SaveHer Pledge and, where you submit a comment, display it publicly alongside your name on the pledge wall;
- Respond to messages submitted through the Contact Us form; and
- Maintain internal records of our programmes' reach, such as volunteer and pledge counts.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We use third-party service providers to operate this website — for example, hosting and file storage providers — who process data on our behalf and only as needed to keep the website running. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law.
5. Data Storage and Security
Information you submit is stored in our database and accessible only to authorized EmpowerRise Hub staff. We take reasonable technical measures to protect it, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You may request that we review, correct, or delete the information you have submitted at any time by emailing hello@empowerrisehub.org. We will respond as promptly as we are able to.
7. Children and Young People
Volunteer registration is open to applicants aged 16 and older. The SaveHer Pledge, part of our national movement to end female genital mutilation (FGM), has no age restriction, as young girls are a core part of who that movement is for and about — a parent or guardian may assist a younger child in completing it. If you believe a child has submitted information inappropriately, or you would like a submission removed, please contact us at the email address above.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will become effective when the updated policy is published on this page, with a revised “Last updated” date above.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your information, please contact us at:
Email: hello@empowerrisehub.org
You may also contact us through the website's Contact Us form.
